Hi Relatives,

How great it is to again join in honouring our ancestors.

For 6 years now on this day, our family website Burchmore.net has celebrated William and Emma’s 1852 arrival at Port Jackson on “Euphrates“. That was when the Colony of NSW had just seen Victoria separate from it (1850), but still included Queensland, with the Federation of Australia only half a century away.

………..

This family get-together by Internet is today’s version of the 1992 picnic- now 25 years ago!- attended by the Raine, Taylor, Harrower, Hutton, Burchmore and related families. It is our fondest hope that this family website will grow and provide valuable research long into the future.

………..

We have added these features this year:

FAMILY TREES

-Our cousin, Terence A. Walsh, now retired with Kerry to The Buckland Valley (of Ned Kelly notoriety) has added a generational breakdown of Wm and Emma’s descendants.

FAMILY STORIES

-The 126 years of “The Harrower Compound“at Bexley is traced by Edgar Baltins.

-An appreciation of our dear mother, Jean Alveen Burchmore 1903-1974.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

-At 103 years young, Jean Watts heads the current listing of our first cousins.

-Say hello to Ella Jasmine Neilson Burchmore 22- high flying bridge climb leader, and be sure to send us a snapshot of any other family Millennial who demonstrates special talent.

IN CONCLUSION let’s all help to expand these archives with personalized family history. We would welcome your contributions however small of any family stories, tributes or photographs that you are happy to share. We are also open to trying to answer whatever queries you may have.

Most importantly, we want to reach all of our relatives, but we do need their contact details. In fact, why not return a few extra email addresses RIGHT NOW?

Good health and best wishes,

Ken and Noel
