Greetings to all,
On this day we honour our forebears (See Burchmore.net)-
BURCHMORE 1852, HARROWER 1884, RAINE 1876, HUTTON 1884 and TAYLOR 1840-who migrated to NSW, when it was still a colony. THE COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA was created in 1901.
This is our 8th year reporting as usual that our family trees have been updated by TERENCE WALSH and EDGAR BALTINS to reflect all of your inputs of births, deaths and marriages. See William Burchmore – Where did he come from and where did he go?
We sadly report the passing of GORDON BURCHMORE BROOKER on 26 June 2018, aged 93 at Forster, NSW. This picture of GORDON with his wife PAT and daughter SUE CANNINGS was taken a few months before he died.
JEAN ALVENE TOYER, the last of her generation of the HUTTON FAMILY left us on 7 October 2018 also aged 93. A memorial ceremony for JEAN was held on 6 May 2019 in the rose garden at Woronora cemetery where, according to her wishes, her ashes were laid to rest alongside her husband JIM TOYER. The gathering included her children DAVID, GRANT, and SHEENA, some of their families and NOEL BURCHMORE.
Each year we celebrate JEAN WATTS’ continuing longevity- now 105.
It was 22 January 1929 – JEAN’S 15th birthday that KENNETH GEORGE BURCHMORE was born at 22 Abercorn St. Bexley. JEAN was his babysitter and they’ve swapped birthday greetings for many of those 90 years, with more to come. See Cousins 2019.
Here is Webmaster JOHN TAYLOR BURCHMORE and Bridge Climb Leader ELLA JASMINE NEILSON BURCHMORE with their grand uncle NOEL. TAYLOR and US friends spent a few days catching the Sydney sights.
Remember that NOEL (noelburch@bigpond.com) is on the lookout for more email contacts particularly younger relatives eager to track their roots, and If you can build the archive memorabilia and family stories. We welcome all contributions.
With fraternal good wishes,
KEN and NOEL BURCHMORE
